Dune du Pilat… Migrant Sands…

Lockdown was almost over, and I needed to breathe. At the time, mingling with every grain of sand, feeling the heat burning under each toe, was a cure for a soul breaking free that had been incarcerated for too long. My visit to the Dune du Pilat was very symbolic. Like myself, diversity brought from abroad, these dunes were built over the years by migrant waves of sand from the African Sahara, finding refuge between pine trees and large seashores.

During my visit, the weather was clear and a bit windy, drawing marvelous shapes with peaks and troughs in the sand, reflecting a playful game of light and shadows. The blue, green, and gold tones gave me endless choices for composition, showcasing three incompatible elements of nature that managed to coexist.
